Outside School Hours Care
OSHC will be managed for Aspley State School by YMCA until September 17 2010.

The YMCA commenced management of the Aspley service in 1992.

From October 4 2010 - Camp Australia will be manging the OSHC service for Aspley State School.

ASPLEY STATE SCHOOL OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOURS CARE (OSHC) SERVICE
Camp Australia is delighted to be working in partnership with Aspley State School to provide families with an OSHC Service. This Service will encompass Before School CareAfter School Care, Pupil Free Days and Vacation Care.
Camp Australia is the nation's leading provider of quality, safe, fun and engaging OSHC Services. Established in 1987, we strive to deliver quality programs, whilst maintaining that important and trusting bond between home, school and OSHC. The OSHC service is also licensed by the Department of Community Services, under the Child Care Act and must comply with this Act and the Child Care Regulation 2003, which includes for example, the requirements relating to activities, experiences and programs, staff members qualifications, numbers of staff members and children

All of our Services meet National Standards and Quality Assurance guidelines as set by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Our program philosophy is focused on "active and passive" activity as well as skills and general play. Depending on the interests of the children in the Service, our Coordinators may break out into a number of different simultaneous activities to cater for both active and passive preferences.
As a part of the passive program, children are encouraged and supported in the instances where they choose to complete homework. We understand that providing such an environment can be very important to families, as it means in today's time poor society, that when the child goes home, they will able to spend quality time with their family, as all school work has been done.
Healthy Eating:
When attending the Service, the children receive healthy, nutritious snacks. Breakfast served daily includes such foods as muffins, toast, crumpets and a selection of cereals. Water and milk are available for the children to drink.
Afternoon tea follows the Heart Smart Choices food strategy; this includes a serving of fresh fruit and vegetables every afternoon. Examples of the food provided include; a selection of sandwiches, salada biscuits, or rice crackers with various toppings, and water is the preferred drink. Cooking experiences the children engage in are offered as an accompaniment to the snack provided.
Service Hours and Fee Structure Commencing Monday 4th October, 2010.
Before School Care 6.30am - 8.45am $11.50 permanent booking
$13.50 casual booking
After School Care 3.00pm - 6:00pm $16.50 permanent booking
$18.50 casual booking
Pupil Free Day 7am - 6pm $40.00
Vacation Care 7am - 6pm
Enrolment Fee* $20.00 per year/per family.
*The enrolment fee is only charged when the child/family utilise the service for the first time.
PLEASE NOTE: With Child Care Benefit and the Tax Rebate - it could be as little as $2.64 per session for BSC and $3.84 for ASC!
Parents can reduce the cost of child care by 50%
To pay no more than 50% for each session you should:
1. Contact the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50 and request individual Customer Reference numbers for yourself and your children.
2. Contact Camp Australia Customer Service on 1300 105 343 or email oshc@campaustralia.com.au and provide us with the CRN's and Dates Of Birth for yourself and your children in care.
Then each quarter you can get 50% of out of pocket child care expenses refunded.
Enrolling in the Service
To help us provide a quality Service that meets National Standards and to secure a place in the OSHC Service, families must complete a Camp Australia Online Enrolment at www.campaustralia.com.au prior to utilising the Service. This will ensure that we have your booking, payment and contact details (parent, child and guardian), and any medical or developmental needs information. A limited number of Enrolment Forms will be available from the OSHC Service and the school office. Please return the completed Enrolment Form to the Camp Australia Head Office.
As confirmation of your Enrolment you will receive a link to our Parent Handbook outlining important information about the Service, including:
• The Service philosophy about learning and child development outcomes and how it is intended the outcomes will be achieved
• The activities and experiences provided by the Service
• The goals about knowledge and skills to be developed through activities and experiences
• The booking and cancellation procedures
These confirmations are sent via email so please ensure you provide a valid email address on your Enrolment Form.
Parent Information Sessions
We will be conducting a Parent Information Session will be held on Tuesday 14th September, 2010 at 5.00pm. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions and learn about the Service and how it can be of assistance to you.
